With over a decade in the waste industry and extensive experience in compost science and operations, Liv founded Golden Roots Organics to help composters and farmers build successful, compliant, and sustainable operations.
Liv serves as a Board member with the Washington Organics Recycling Council (WORC) and leads their annual Compost Facility Operator Training (CFOT) and Compost Professionals Training (CPT). She has worked as a compost facility operator at the Woodland Park Zoo, the Science and Permitting Manager for Engineered Compost Systems, and Director of the Compostable Field Testing Program. She's had the privilege of supporting diverse organics management operations, from small farm composters to large-scale commercial facilities, and she's seen firsthand how every kind of operation benefits from expert guidance grounded in real-world experience.
Liv is a Certified Composting Professional (CCP) and certified Compost Facility Operator. She combines hands-on operational experience and excellent communication with the latest scientific research and regulatory knowledge to deliver composters with practical solutions. Liv believes every composting operation, regardless of size or budget, deserves access to that kind of expertise.

Aimee Manderlink
Co-Founder, Principal Consultant
Aimee partnered with Liv to build Golden Roots Organics to support composters of all types and sizes - especially the community and grass roots operations who have the biggest impact on their local community but are often the most overlooked by technical service providers in our industry.
Aimee's compost journey started as a mechanical engineering student at Boston University where she found her passion for toilets and human waste management. Aimee spent most of her career in the commercial composting world as an engineer and project manager at Engineered Compost Systems where she designed large scale compost facilities, provided technical support for facility operations, commissioned new facilities, and trained compost facility operators in the field.
Aimee believes human connection is at the heart of making compost and it's therefore at the heart of her work. Her approach meets you where you're at - there are no stupid questions or solutions too simple - while providing you with the highest level of technical expertise. Creating healthier soils to leave our world a little better than we found it isn't something one person can do alone. It's a team effort, and we're all on the compost team together.
